OREGON SOCCER
The program, led by head coach, Kat Mertz, is building on the foundation of strong alumnae and even has been known to include alums in the pregame pep talk to share the rich history of Oregon women's soccer. Oregon’s investment in women’s sports has paid off in a big way for the school, and Ducks soccer is no exception. The Ducks have been on the rise for several years, and blew through their early 2017 schedule, beginning the season with six wins, a tie, and just two losses. The Ducks struggled through a tough Pac-12 slate but the buzz around the program continues to build – the Ducks signed Oregon state player of the year Jordan Wormdahl in February, and midfielder Chardonnay Curran received her second call-up to the U.S. Women’s National Team this April.

YOUR SUPPORT
Oregon soccer has greatly benefited from Women In Flight support over the past several years including most recently, utilizing $10,000 allocated for team bonding resources where the team went to Camp Kiwinalong for a retreat. The team also invited, leadership coach, Donna Fishter, to build character, leadership and team communication.
In the past year, Oregon soccer also had the opportunity to represent the Pac-12 in an international tournament in China. The trip provided the team extra practice and competition per the NCAA as well as the experience of traveling abroad, bonding as a team and learning about different cultures.
In addition, Women In Flight funds sponsor an annual women’s symposium focused on empowering Oregon female student-athletes, in their future careers and life after collegiate athletics. This year, the program featured the very motivating ESPN reporter, Holly Rowe.
By making a gift to Women In Flight, TODAY, you can support programming specifically for female student-athletes including foreign tours, scholarships, equipment, books for the classroom, career and leadership development opportunities and more.
