The Oregon Jazz Ensemble has been invited to perform at Italy’s renowned Umbria Jazz Festival in July 2027, and we need your help to make it possible. Oregon Jazz Ensemble The University of Oregon’s award-winning Oregon Jazz Ensemble (OJE) has been invited to perform at the Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, Italy, in July 2027—one of Europe’s most celebrated jazz festivals—and we need your help to make it possible for students. This extraordinary invitation gives students the opportunity to represent the UO on an international stage and share their music with audiences from around the world. OJE also hopes to tour through France and Italy, performing at additional venues and major festivals along the way. The ensemble has a distinguished tradition of excellence, earning 17 DownBeat Magazine awards under directors Steve Owen (1988–2022) and Paul Krueger (2022–present), including Graduate College Outstanding Ensemble Performance awards in 2008, 2016, and 2025. Now, these talented Ducks have the chance to build on that tradition abroad. This European tour will give OJE students the opportunity to: Perform at internationally renowned jazz festivals Hear exceptional musicians from around the world Connect with fellow musicians across cultures Gain meaningful cultural experiences and a greater understanding of global citizenship Strengthen their career preparedness through professional performance experience, collaboration, and exposure to the international music industry But international travel comes at a significant cost, and for many students, opportunities to study or perform abroad can be financially out of reach. Your gift can help make this once-in-a-lifetime experience possible. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to support OJE students on their 2027 European tour. Reaching that goal will fully fund the tour costs for two students—and every gift will help bring the ensemble closer to taking the stage in Europe. Every Duck deserves the opportunity to succeed—and that starts with having enough to eat. Student Food Pantry Every Duck deserves the opportunity to succeed—and that starts with having enough to eat. No student should have to choose between paying bills and putting a healthy meal on the table. Each month, hundreds of students experiencing food insecurity turn to the Student Food Pantry for nutritious food and essential items. For students balancing the costs of college and everyday life, that support can help them stay healthy, focused, and on track toward their goals. Now, the Student Food Pantry is expanding into a new on-campus space operated by UO staff, with the capacity to serve an anticipated 2,000 students each month. Bringing the pantry onto campus will make nutritious food more accessible while removing barriers that can make it harder for students to get the support they need. We need your help to stock this expanded space and put essential resources within reach for more students: $25 can buy three bottles of herbs and spices to provide variety and flavor in students’ meals $50 can buy 20 one-pound bags of pantry staples like dry beans, lentils, or pasta $50 can buy an emergency grocery store gift card $100 can buy five cases of canned foods, helping students add nutritious options to their weekly meals $250 can provide a month of specialty food items for those with dietary restrictions $500 can provide a month of student staff wages, helping the pantry stay open longer and serve more students $1,000 can provide supplemental groceries for 150 students for one month Your support helps ensure students have access to the resources they need to stay healthy, remain enrolled, and continue pursuing their goals. Building a New Home for Oregon Rowing

With your help, we can upgrade the UO Rowing boathouse and better support the dedicated student-athletes who train and compete there. Friends of Oregon Rowing Since the 1960s, UO Rowing has brought over 1,700 student-athletes to Dexter Reservoir. But after 50 years, the team’s boathouse needs major repairs to meet today’s needs. With your help, we can upgrade this aging facility and better support the dedicated student-athletes who train and compete there. A new boathouse would: Provide a warmer, more welcoming, and safer space for the team Increase storage capacity for equipment and maintenance Improve the program’s visibility in the local community and across Oregon Help grow rowing participation and increase the team’s performance Attract and retain first-class coaching for a thriving rowing program Working with UO Campus Planning and Facilities Management, Oregon Rowing alumni determined the new boathouse would cost $3 million and established a fund to make the project possible. We are excited to share that progress has already begun with over $150,000 in donations and pledges! Your gift can help move this effort forward. If the club and its affinity group, Friends of Oregon Rowing, have raised excess or insufficient funds required to build the boathouse by the end of 2029, these funds will be made available for current use by the UO Rowing club.
