OREGON SWMMING
Offered as an intercollegiate sport at Oregon from 1948-1986, the history of the swimming program is sprinkled with notable accomplishments. The team garnered several All-Americans, many meet records, and four Northwest College Women’s Sports Association titles during the 1970s. Most significantly, Michelle Menkins brought home a National Championship win for the 50-yard freestyle in 1975. In addition, Kathy Hemmer was a versatile distance swimmer who won several NCWSA titles during the 1970s. Oregon swimming alums set a great example of success for Oregon's future female student-athletes.
YOUR SUPPORT
By making a gift to Women In Flight, TODAY, you can support programming specifically for female student-athletes including foreign tours, scholarships, equipment, books for the classroom, career and leadership development opportunities and more.
In addition, Women In Flight funds sponsor an annual women’s symposium focused on empowering Oregon female student-athletes, in their future careers and life after collegiate athletics. This year, the program featured the very motivating ESPN reporter, Holly Rowe.
