WHO: 5th-8th graders boys & girls
WHY: Empower youth in the community through sport
Warsaw Hoopfest is back! After a successful camp in 2019 last April, the Warsaw Sports Business Club is once again hosting the annual Hoopfest basketball camp. Donate to help us create the most fulfilling and fun experience possible so that we can continue this great tradition!
Hoopfest is a day-long, student-run basketball camp for 5th-8th grade kids hosted by the Warsaw Sports Business Club at Matthew Knight Arena, where we teach fundamental basketball skills, teamwork, and friendship through the game of basketball. It allows the Warsaw Sports Business Club to interact with the Eugene community and pass on the healthy habits associated with sport to local youth.
Conducting a day camp environment enhances the experiences by creating an inviting atmosphere for our young athletes and a stress-free environment for spectators. On event day, participants are immersed in activities such as a skills challenge, a 3-point contest, and round-robin play. Each part is aimed to develop their skills on and off the court, emphasizing the importance of exercise and sportsmanship.
Participating players are given a free t-shirt, various door prizes, and will be provided with lunch. To end the day, participants gather at an awards ceremony that recognizes various achievements from throughout the day. We invite families and other spectators to enjoy the day with us to watch gameplay, participate in the seminars, and test their luck with various raffles!
All net proceeds of the event go to youth scholarships for Kidsports and the Stephen Dember Memorial Scholarship for students studying sports business at the University of Oregon.
