The Women in Graduate Sciences organization held our 9th annual Winter Benefit on March 9. We are so thankful for everyone who attended and the support we have received thus far.
Your donations are essential to advancing our mission of “striving for gender equality by focusing on the professional development of women and all marginalized genders in all disciplines of science to enable them to become successful contributors to their fields.” We accomplish this through scholarships and awards to students, professional development activities and community outreach.
Thanks to our supporters last year, we were able to sponsor more awards, such as our parenting scholarships. Parents training to be scientists use these funds for childcare costs or other essentials. This allows them to focus on their research knowing their little ones have what they need.
