Help the Spanish Heritage Language (SHL) Program continue to serve Latinx students!

By giving to the SHL program, you can sustain the Líderes Bilingües / Bilingual Leaders initiative by providing meaningful, paid opportunities to academically outstanding Latinx students to serve as ambassadors and public-facing voices of the program. The SHL program will also provide specialized courses where Latinx students learn about Spanish as it is used in the US and in the wider Spanish-speaking world, build on their existing knowledge of Spanish, and make meaningful connections with local Spanish-speaking communities. The SHL program will also host campus events focused on graduate school, culture, and academics, and fund scholarships that provide vital support to often marginalized students. 

When we meet our $8,000 goal, we’ll be able to:

• Hire three to four Líderes Bilingües / Bilingual Leaders
• Host campus events
• Fund scholarships for Latinx students
• Foster the Latinx community at the UO and wider Eugene community
