Bring Duck talent to the international stage!

The University of Oregon Chamber Choir, one of UO’s premier music ensembles, has been invited to perform at the World Choir Games. This group of 38 performers brings together perspectives from across campus, with students participating from a broad range of majors, from neuroscience to business, who share a deep passion for music.

The World Choir Games is an international choral competition that focuses on peaceful competition and bringing people together through song.  Due to their previous international success in Estonia, Ireland, Germany, Sweden, and Spain, the UO Chamber Choir will be performing in the highly select “Champions Competition.”

This year, they are headed to New Zealand to:

  • Perform competitively
  • Hear outstanding choirs from around the world, exposing them to repertoire rarely heard in the United States
  • Participate in cultural experiences that will lead to a greater understanding of New Zealand and global citizenship

Not all students can travel abroad as part of their college experience. Students who have had the unique opportunity to perform internationally on behalf of the UO in the past have spoken of the community they felt with other performers from around the world.  The common language of music unites us all by expressing shared human experiences- from sorrow and struggle to love, joy, and celebration.  Please consider a gift to provide these students with the trip of a lifetime.

If you wish to donate via check, please contact Kelsey Isaacs by emailing Kelsey3@uoregon.edu or calling 541-852-9368.
