WOW! Your generosity is making a difference

April 02, 2025

THANK YOU to all of our donors and attendees! We have raised over $10,000 and sold out all 110 seats in advance of our event. Because of your generosity, we've stretched our goal again - this time to $13,000. The campaign is still live and accepting donations until April 8.

Owing to the current success of the fundraiser, WGS board is excited to be able expand the number of scholarships awarded to undergrads and graduate students this year. Please spread the word and help our campaign meet its new goal.

THANK YOU! Because of you, we're reaching even further

March 26, 2025

Thanks to all our generous donors, we've exceeded our pre-event goal of $5,000 a week before the event! Because of your support, we are able to able to announce our $3,000 day-of goal early this year. Please help spread the word and help us reach even further.

Our gala will be capped at 100 guests this year, but we still have plenty of tables left to fill. If you are planning on attending, please fill out this form so we can ensure nametags and dietary restrictions are met. Email co-chairs Allison LaSalvia (alasalvi@uoregon.edu) or Audrey Klein (audreykl@uoregon.edu) if you have any additional questions or preferences.

We're over 50% to our goal!

March 21, 2025

We're at the halfway mark of our campaign to raise $5,000 to support Women in Graduate Sciences and we've already raised $2,900! Thank you so much to everyone who has already given! With only $2,100 left to raise, Rose Hulsey-Vincent - a WGS Graduate Conference Award recipient - wanted to share what your gifts have helped make possible. Here's what Rose had to say:

"The Graduate Conference Award was a great help to my career development and research! I used this award to attend the 2024 Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois. Speaking with neuroscientists from different backgrounds and specialties broadened my understanding of neuroscience. Attending science communication workshops taught me about how to better engage with and learn from my community here in Eugene. Thanks to WGS’s support I was able to attend the conference for an additional day to join the Songbird Satellite meeting. This meeting gave me the opportunity to get specified, technical feedback from experts on my experimental design and analysis. It also gave me the chance to meet and network with the scientists whose research inspired and informed my own . I am grateful for WGS’s support to both my scientific and outreach efforts!"

We're one week in!

March 13, 2025

We're one week in to our campaign to raise $5,000 to support Women in Graduate Sciences and we've already raised more than $1,000. Thank you so much to everyone who has already given! With $4,000 left to raise, Andy Davis - a WGS Leadership Award recipient- wanted to share what your gifts have helped make possible. Here's what she had to say:

"Last year I received the WGS Leadership Award for the outreach I did with ADSE. The award helped me continue my work and, since then, I've been able recruit two additional graduate students to establish a Community College Outreach Committee. Our committee has been able to work together to continue the established outreach with plans to expand in the spring term. I must acknowledge the hard work of both Jordan Rodriguiz, who has been instrumental to running and hosting the Science by the Slice (A STEM Seminar Series), and Dario Nunez, who has been essential in coordinating our annual Science Complex Tour. Together we have engaged with dozens of LCC students and faculty to provide an inside look into the ongoings at UO within the sciences. With the establishment of this committee made up of passionate scientists and volunteers, I'm hoping the successful outreach that we've accomplished will continue and grow beyond my graduation in the spring."
