Building a New Home for Oregon Rowing
Since the 1960s, UO Rowing has brought over 1,700 student-athletes to Dexter Reservoir. But after 50 years, the team’s boathouse needs major repairs to meet today’s needs. With your help, we can upgrade this aging facility and better support the dedicated student-athletes who train and compete there.
A new boathouse would:
- Provide a warmer, more welcoming, and safer space for the team
- Increase storage capacity for equipment and maintenance
- Improve the program’s visibility in the local community and across Oregon
- Help grow rowing participation and increase the team’s performance
- Attract and retain first-class coaching for a thriving rowing program
Working with UO Campus Planning and Facilities Management, Oregon Rowing alumni determined the new boathouse would cost $3 million and established a fund to make the project possible. We are excited to share that progress has already begun with $100,000 in donations and pledges!

If the club and its affinity group, Friends of Oregon Rowing, have raised excess or insufficient funds required to build the boathouse by the end of 2029, these funds will be made available for current use by the UO Rowing club.
