DuckFunder is the official crowdfunding platform for the University of Oregon, created to help UO students, faculty, and staff raise money for the campus programs they care about. Our initiatives foster innovation and enhance the UO student experience, showcasing exciting projects across campus.
Are you in need of funding for your organization? Join our Student Organization Cohort! The cohort provides the following benefits:
- A dedicated "Crowdfunding 101" training designed to help your project succeed
- Individualized support for your campaign
- A community of participating organizations to learn from your peers
- An opportunity to gain skills in fundraising, outreach, marketing, and project management
- The ability to accept charitable donations through your fundraising page
Is your organization eligible?
- You have an ASUO index or a UO Foundation fund for receiving donations.
- At least one member of the organization must be able to commit 2-5 hours per week to the project and curriculum.
- Projects cannot fund individual needs (tuition, textbooks, rent).
- Project proceeds cannot go to third party organizations (like the American Red Cross or the Sierra Club).
- Donations must be solely philanthropic – money cannot be used to sell items, tickets, or other things that have monetary value.
- Funds must be used in accordance with the UO and Advancement’s ethical and legal standards.
How does it work?
Organizations apply for the cohort. Once accepted, we will schedule weekly trainings (see dates below) and invite members to our Teams channel where we will be organizing and managing projects. Weekly trainings will cover using the platform, setting goals, creating content, marketing your campaign, and thanking the donors after the close of the campaign. Regardless of whether you meet your goal, you will still receive all funds raised.
- Organizations can apply starting October 20
- Applications are due by 11:59pm on October 28
- Training begins the week of November 3
- Campaigns launch November 17
- Campaigns close December 4
- Final presentations happen the week of December 8.
