The Oregon Ducks Unified Basketball team is going to Nationals! Winning the NIRSA Region VI basketball tournament at Eastern Washington University in Cheney on March 8-10 means the Ducks Unified team automatically advances to the NCS National Championship, which will be held in Wichita, Kansas from April 12-14.
Our team is thrilled to travel and compete in the National Championship and proudly represent the University of Oregon! Your donation helps us provide the Special Olympic athletes, UO students, and coaches who make up the team pay for their flights, lodging, transportation, and meals in Wichita for a weekend filled with competition, sportsmanship, and lasting memories.
Unified Sports is a partnership between PE & Rec and Special Olympics that bring together UO students and local Special Olympic athletes to play side by side. This unique and rewarding program allows people with and without intellectual disabilities to create friendships, understanding, and build community through sport. The University of Oregon has been offering Unified Intramural programming since 2018, in sports such as indoor and outdoor soccer in addition to 5v5 basketball.
Thank you for your support of this transformative experience! Your impact on these students and Special Olympic athletes is priceless.
Go Ducks!
