Hello Supporters!

We wanted to provide you one last update about our team's incredible success! The Oregon Ducks Unified Basketball team competed in the NIRSA National Basketball Tournament April 11th-14th in Wichita, Kansas. The Ducks represented Oregon in a division of 12 other Unified teams from across the country. The team advanced out of pool play 1-1, where they faced off vs Kansas State & Toldeo. The Ducks then defeated Iowa State in the first round of playoffs, qualifying them for the semi-final game. The team was then defeated by a skilled team from the University of Louisiana. Our students and Special Olympic athletes competed every game with passion, respect, and demonstrated top notch sportsmanship.  Brandon Schmit, am Oregon Duck Special Olympic athlete, was named to the All-American team.

Through the Duck Fund platform and YOUR incredible support, over $12,500 was raised from 94 contributing donors to fully fund all tournament expenses. The community support was truly amazing and the experience that was provided to our students and Special Olympic athletes will be one they will never forget and will continue to impact their student experience moving forward. We feel privileged to have supported the Unified division at the National Tournament but more importantly, support the global movement for inclusion. The Ducks made lifelong memories and friendships with the other Unified teams. We are so thankful to all of our fans and supporters for their encouragement, support, and celebration of this team.

We hope to continue to develop our Unified program and get back to the National tournament next year!

Thank you to every single of one of our donors that helped support this team's trip to the NIRSA National Basketball Championships this weekend.

We are overwhelmed by the incredible support of the University of Oregon community, the Special Olympics community, and all of our family and friends. We have reached our fundraising goal and the trip is now fully funded thanks to every single one of you. If you checkout the DuckFunder page, you will see that the original goal of $11,000 increased a bit mostly due to airfare expenses, but because of the generosity from all of our donors we were able to complete the fundraising efforts. A big thank you to Special Olympics for providing a generous travel stipend for the team and also to the Marbury family for the final "Hall of Fame" donation that pushed us across the finish line!

The team is set to fly out of Portland tomorrow afternoon and the tournament will begin Friday evening. Hello Duck Nation!

Nearly one week to go until we leave for the National Basketball Tournament! The team is ready to represent the University of Oregon and our community in Wichita. Today a great article was published in the Daily Emerald featuring the team and their journey.

We are also excited to announce that we have received a challenge gift from an anonymous donor! This amazing couple has promised to push us over the finish line with a gift of $1,000 if we can get to $10,000 with fan and community support.
