Wayne Morse Law Fellows 2020-21

Support the incoming Wayne Morse Law Fellows!

"I am so ecstatic, and shocked. This is really a dream come true. Thank you so much for all the encouragement and support!" Vanessa Jackson, Wayne Morse Law Fellow, upon finding out she had received the fellowship in Sen. Ron Wyden's D.C. office for summer 2020.

With your help, the Wayne Morse Law Fellows program is leveling the playing field and providing high-level legal clerkships for UO Law students.

Show your support today—help us reach our goal of $2,500 and send a student to D.C.!

Wayne Morse Law Fellowships provide a career-shaping experience for UO law students interested in law and public policy. Students spend 10 weeks in the summer as law clerks in offices on Capitol Hill.

Clerkships such as these are incredibly valuable for the students—they are shaping policy, writing bills, and building lasting connections.

However, it's expensive to travel, secure lodging, and pay the higher costs of living that come with relocating to a city. Historically, summer law clerkships such as these have only been available to financially well-off students. Most of our law fellows could not afford this experience without the funds the fellowship provides.

When you make a gift, it goes directly toward removing money-related barriers for law fellows to participate in these opportunities.

Eastern Oregonian and 2019-20 Wayne Morse Law Fellow Marika Sitz had an opportunity to meet with Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor during her fellowship.
