The Oregon Marching Band is marching to the Rose Bowl to support the undefeated, conference-winning UO football team in its bid to become national champions! This trip will be the first time many students attend a bowl game, an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives. But for one marching band member, this championship series is a last hurrah after decades of service.

Susie is the oldest sousaphone in the marching band, older even than the student playing her. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve raised enough to replace eight sousaphones. When we reach our $120,000 goal, we’ll fully outfit the band so they can put their best foot forward. Because of you, Susie will be able to enjoy a well-deserved retirement.

We're humbled by your generosity. In two months, Oregon Marching Band alumni and fans have raised an incredible $83,000 to purchase new sousaphones, making sure every sousaphone player in the band has an instrument to play. We cannot thank you enough.

Did you know that Oregon Marching Band borrows sousaphones from local high schools? These sousaphones help us fully equip the band, but silver sousaphones in a sea of brass stand out. Every $10,000 we raise going forward replaces a borrowed silver sousaphone with a UO-owned brass instrument, adorned with the signature UO wings.
