Divisi is a student-run group that began in 2001. As an ASUO recognized program, we have developed into an organized gathering of women that is focused on promoting female empowerment and taking bold strides in the world of music. Our intention is to travel around the Eugene area and other parts of the country to share our music and to be role models for as many young singers as we can. We were founded in 2001 with just a few strong women and very little notoriety, but today we have 14 current singers, dozens of alum, and a tradition of award-winning performances under our belt. Much of what we do and have done in the past would not have been possible without the wonderful support that we have received from our family, friends, and community.
Our mission for this school year is to compete in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCAs), and to travel to various parts of the country in order to share our message and continue the Divisi legacy. However, very little money is granted to us from the University of Oregon. In turn, we must fundraise most of our money so we can pay for important elements such as housing, travel expenses, festival and competition entries, new music arrangements, and recording fees.
We are reaching out to people in our networks, in our community, and people in the worldwide web in hopes that we may receive monetary donations to help us pay for these costs. Our goal is to raise $15,000. Thus, we would greatly appreciate any kind of donation that you are capable of. Any amount would be a huge help. This will enable us to share our message with as many people as possible and make this year one to remember. Additionally, we would be so grateful if you could share this information with your network to help us reach our goal.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration and for being a part of this journey with us!
$25 pays for one shirt as part of our Divisi uniforms. We perform in these professional uniforms on stage.
$65 provides a ticket for one of our 14 singers to attend an a cappella festival. Festivals usually consist of workshops, working on our skills, and sharing our message with other groups on a national scale
$100 is the average cost for us to travel to the various events and competitions that we attend in Oregon (Portland, Central Oregon, etc).
$300 will pay for one new music arrangement so we can add a new song to our repertoire and keep producing new music for you to listen to
$450 is the approximate price for a round trip ticket for one singer to fly to Boston for a prestigious a cappella festival that we have been wanting to go to for years. This will give us the opportunity to finally attend!
$1,200 will allow us to record and produce a new song! We would either release it as a single or add it to our next album.
One goal that we have always had is to provide scholarships for singers that audition and are chosen to be in our group. This will help eliminate financial barriers for singers that may struggle with how they can pay for college expenses.
