In loving memory of Chris Bjork
Our teammate and friend, Chris Bjork leaves behind an unmatched legacy of kindness, love and humanity. He loved fiercely – loved his family most of all – but also loved all of us. He loved his friends, the Ducks, the Foo Fighters, a nice cold Coors Light shared with anyone who wanted a good chat and a laugh. There is a hole in our lives and hearts from this loss that feels impossible to fill.
We all have a million Chris stories to share. But one that stands out most – a couple months ago the Oregon Sports Properties Team was talking about goals for the new year. When it came to Chris, he started off in his Chris way with a little of this, a little of that and then waved his hand and said, “it comes down to this, I just want to be a good human.” Well, mission accomplished, friend. There was no better human.
We share in this grief together and we direct our prayers and energy to helping the Bjork family through this however we can. Chris leaves behind his wife Allison and three boys, Anders, Henry and Geordie. Chris taught us how to take care of each other, and we need his lessons now and forevermore.
To honor Chris, we are working towards a named scholarship in perpetuity for his love for the Ducks and his passion of mentorship to serve young people. Please consider contributing at any level to help us secure this scholarship.
