ITINERARY
DATES: June 26-July 5
LOCATIONS: Lisbon & Algarve, Portugal | Seville & Gibraltar, Spain | Tangier, Morocco
GAMES: There are three games scheduled against Portuguese, Spanish, and European National teams. Official matchups and dates TBA.
CLINICS: We will host a clinic in Spain and Portugal!
EXCURSIONS: Ziplining from Spain to Portugal | Kayaking in Lagos, Portugal | Camel ride on the famed Achakkar Beach
Duck parents, former student-athletes and Oregon Lacrosse supporters,
We are excited to announce the 2022-23 Oregon Lacrosse team will have a tremendous opportunity to travel abroad this summer for competition in Portugal and Spain! This unique international experience is the second international tour for Oregon Lacrosse, the last trip happening in 2016. During this tour, our women will compete in multiple games versus the Portuguese, European, and Spanish national teams. We will also spend time growing the game as our players and coaches will host local clinics in the communities we travel to.
We are thrilled to have this opportunity and feel that this trip will continue to help grow Lacrosse throughout the world. Lacrosse is entering the final stage to become an Olympic sport for the 2028 LA Games and trips like this remind international communities about the high level competition of this sport worldwide. Additionally, these opportunities unite athletes from around the world to foster the future of the game together. Our 10-day tour will include all current student-athletes on the 22-23 roster, coaching staff, and support staff.
To make this trip possible, Oregon Athletics has already raised a portion of the funds needed to cover travel and related costs of the tour. I am asking that each of you support our team by helping us raise the additional funds to send our team on a trip of a lifetime! Whether you are a parent, former student-athlete, or supporter, we recognize the role Lacrosse has played in your life; the commitment you have shared as a family and the dedication you’ve given our University. Thank you. This experience may or may not directly impact you, but I can assure you it will impact this group of student-athletes and the future of our program.
As mentioned, the athletic department is committed to covering the bulk of the costs through our Women In Flight program. We still need your help raising the last $50,000 necessary to send our team on this tour.
