We raised over $80,000!

April 04, 2023

We're awed by your generosity. Along with 68 other donors, you helped us raise $80,475 towards our $82,500 goal. That's 97%!

Faculty and students in the Theatre Arts department are looking forward to seeing the new lights in action. We'll continue to update you as they're installed and put into use in the classroom and in performances. Stay tuned for an email inviting you to attend one of our upcoming performances.

Donations are still being accepted to help us get to 100%. If someone you know missed their chance, they can still donate online here.

One day left!

March 30, 2023

We're so close to lighting the way for our Theatre Arts students. Your support has brought us up to 96% of our goal. We're astonished by your generosity!

We have only one more day to match the generous $41,250 gift from the College of Arts and Sciences and reach our goal of purchasing new LED lights for the Hope and Robinson Theatres. These lights will give our students valuable hands-on experience with the latest technology in entertainment and design.

Please amplify the DuckFunder campaign with friends and family!

Help us spread the word

March 15, 2023

So far, we've raised 77% towards our goal of upgrading to state-of-the-art lighting fixtures in our theatres and providing students the opportunity to learn the most up-to-date technology. We're so grateful!

But we still have a long way to go to meet our generous $41,250 match from the College of Arts and Sciences, and we could use your help. Please spread the word about the campaign with your friends, family, and loved ones and encourage them to give or to support the campaign by sharing it widely. Every little bit lights the way.

Just like with any theatre production, collaboration is key - and we couldn't do this without your support. Thank you!

3 Weeks to Meet Our Goal!

March 10, 2023

We have 3 more weeks until our Duckfunder ends. We have been overwhelmed by the support shown for this campaign from the community. If you wish to help us get new LED lighting fixtures for the Theatre Arts Department, now is the time. We have raised over $57,000 towards our $82,500 goal!

Theatre Arts alumni like Michaela Hager understand the value of students having hands-on experience with equipment like the LED lighting fixtures.

"Pretty much anywhere you go there are going to be moving light fixtures. It is a very valuable skill set for them to take with them out into the careers that they’ll pursue after graduation”

 -Michaela Hager, Theatre Arts ‘12

Thank you for your continued support!

Lighting design experience at the UO prepared Adam Greene for his career

March 06, 2023
"The design experience I received at U of O introduced me to and began me on a path to becoming a professional Lighting Designer. My career has taken me around the world to work in theater, dance, opera and broadcast television, including award-winning newsroom studios. Currently, I am the Lighting Designer for the Sherri Show.

The technology of lighting has changed a lot in the past decade, and just as a Lighting Designer in the field needs to stay current, it is important that the educational facilities training the next generation of Lighting Designers stay current. Purchasing new ETC Lonestar lights would give today's students the hands-on experience needed to prepare for a career in design and entertainment technology."

-Adam H. Greene
Principal Designer, Greene Light Design

Double your impact with a matching gift from the College of Arts and Sciences

March 01, 2023

Thanks to a generous $41,250 dollar donation from the College of Arts and Sciences, we are already halfway to our goal! You can double your impact when you donate today.

Students like Jordan Hamlin would benefit the most from the installation of new LED lights at the Hope and Robinson theatres. Here’s what he said about the difference that these lights would make to him:

These lighting instruments would help me build my career and broaden my horizons.”
