Hello All,
I am very pleased with this new video featuring our Native students. They came together to share their gratitude as well as to let everyone know who will directly benefit from the Native Duck Fund. The video was shot at a Thursday night potluck. Every Thursday evening, Native students, parents, faculty, staff and the Eugene community come together at the Longhouse for a meal. It gives us a chance to share with our Native students a home cooked meal. We have a lot of fun as you can see from the video.
Thanks to all of you who have given so far. Please share this new video with all your friends and family. We have a little more than $2,500 to go in reaching our goal. Little by little, we will get there.

Wishing each of you a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We are overwhelmed by your generosity and assistance in this endeavor. When the Native Duck Fund campaign concludes, we will host a special Thanksgiving potluck at the Many Nations Longhouse and give thanks in a more traditional way. For American Indians, every day is for giving thanks and reciprocity is expected.
Keep the donations coming and share the Native Duck Fund with all your friends. Please remind everyone that your donations are tax deductible. Get your name (and pet) on the Donor Wall!! Have a wonderful break!!

True story!
Last night around 3:00 a.m., as I soundly slept, my cat sat on my head. It so happened that I was thinking/dreaming about the Native Duck Fund and all the possibilities that will follow when we reach our goal. Mea The Cat took advantage of my slumber and demanded a donation in her name. She challenges all pets to do the same.

BTW, Mea The Cat says "meow" to all her other feline friends. Perhaps that was an indication that she wants to start a Dogs vs. Cats donation challenge.
Hello Friends,
I am excited and humbled by all of the donations so far. I would like to thank all who have given so generously to the Native Duck Fund.
I recently returned from the American Indian Science and Engineering Society National Conference in MN. I proudly shared our Native Duck Fund progress with colleagues and students. They were amazed that a fund like this was being created. Many of the students who attend AISES self-fund their trip. AISES is the largest American Indian conference for students in the STEM disciplines...about 3,500 attend annually. These students present papers, share research posters, attend a career fair, and network with native students from all over the country. There are so few native students on their home campuses that when they attend AISES, they find themselves re-energized, excited, and not so alone in academia. Many of the relationships they form at AISES last a lifetime.
Your gifts will support professional development experiences that will begin careers. I am convinced more than ever, that our future generation of native scholars need your help to succeed. Some doors cannot be opened without assistance. We need to help remove the economic barriers that so many of our native scholars experience.
Thanks for your help so far!!

Hello Friends,
Wow!! What a wonderful opening day for the Native Duck Fund!! Many thanks to all who have already been so generous.
This is a wonderful opportunity to invest in our next generation of tribal scholars. More now than ever, the education of our youth is of the greatest importance. We need our upcoming youth to help save the things that are most dear and vital to human survival. Truly, water is life!! We need credentialed tribal scholars in the room with those who make decisions that will affect many generations to come. They can temper the insanity that now seems to be upon us. No college student has ever found their way into these rooms of privilege without assistance. Your pledge will help our tribal scholars grow from student to professional. Empower our next generation. We need help more now than ever!!
Please share this site with all your friends and family. Broadcast widely on social media.
Warmly,
Jason Younker
